About Nomela Holdings

From a single logistics company started with $1,050 in 2015, we have grown into a group with an 18-truck fleet, a blue-chip anchor tenant (Schweppes), a verified chrome resource, and a clear growth plan built on nine years of operating history.

Nomela Mining

Unearthing potential. Operational
Excavator working a mining site
RAW ORE 13.7% Cr₂O₃ feed GRAVITY WASH 50 TPH wash plant CONCENTRATE 46–50% export grade

Nomela Mining extracts and processes minerals in Zimbabwe, with its flagship site at Lalapanzi, on the Great Dyke, upgrading a 13.7% feed grade to a 46–50% export-grade chrome concentrate through surface gravity washing, not deep-shaft mining.

Lalapanzi is the first of what we intend to be several sites. Our team is actively evaluating additional claims, and the same extraction and processing capability extends to other minerals, including iron and lithium, as new opportunities are secured.

Why Chrome

Zimbabwe holds an estimated 12% of the world's high-grade chromite reserves. Chrome is essential to stainless steel production, and structural supply constraints in the global market have kept international prices firm.

Location Lalapanzi, Great Dyke
Feed Grade 13.7% Cr₂O₃

Nomela Commodities

SOURCE India & other origins PORT OF BEIRA Return-leg cargo capacity DISTRIBUTION Zimbabwe & region

Nomela Commodities is a multi-commodity trading desk, sourcing grain and other agricultural inputs for the Zimbabwean market, not a single-product importer. Rice from India is the current lead product, moved on Nomela Logistics' return-leg capacity from the Port of Beira, but the desk trades other agricultural staples as well, and handles the market-facing sale of minerals extracted by Nomela Mining, including chrome, iron, and lithium, as those positions come online.

Much of this trade is capital-light: a buyer can approach Nomela Commodities directly to order product against upfront payment, for example a rice repacker ordering several containers on their own account, with Nomela handling sourcing and movement rather than carrying the position itself.

Why Rice

Zimbabwe's rice consumption has grown from 12,000 tonnes/year in 2005 to 264,000 tonnes in 2023, and is projected to reach roughly 800,000 tonnes/year by 2030, driven by a generational shift toward rice as a daily staple.

Quick Facts

Core Products Rice, staple foods
Also Traded Chrome, iron, lithium (via Nomela Mining)
Trade Model Own-account and prepaid, on-order trade
Sourcing India, with other origins as needed
